The Palace Down the Street!

One of my favorite things about living in London is the history that encompasses the entire city. Last week the sun finally started to shine in England and so in order to soak up as much pleasant weather as possible I decide to go for a walk around town. While walking I ended up Greenwhich-which neighbors my town. I love this area of town because it is filled with cute boutiques, restaurants and most importantly a STARBUCKS! While walking through Greenwich I stumbled upon what use to be Greenwich Palace. The palace is now home to the Royal Naval Academy, however, it was once the favorite palace of King Henry the VIII and the birthplace of the great Elizabeth I. I love that this historic palace is just a few minutes from my home, being able to walk in a building that housed so much history is awe inspiring and being surrounded by things that I was once only able to read about it books reminds me how much I love London.

Books that Inspire

One of my favorite things to do whilst on holiday or on a break from school is to get a stack of new books to read-being able to stay up all night reading a new and exciting book in bed is such a luxury! I absolutely love looking at books reviews in my favorite magazines and newspapers to compile a list of must read books, and although I pretty much read everything that I can get my hands on there are still those few books that really inspire me. Here are a list of books that have influenced my love of travel and encouraged me to seek far off places. Happy reading!

Undress Me in the Temple of Heaven

This amazing memoir follows the journey of two girls as they make their way across China which has just opened its boarders to foreigners. The girls quickly find themselves out of their depth as they are put in situations that leave them at times terrified for their lives. I found myself so gripped by this book that I ended up inhaling it in one 24 hour period.

The Lost Girls

The travel memoirs of three girls who leave behind busy careers and boyfriends in New York to set off for a year traveling around the world. This book reminds me that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

The Lonely Planet

The Lonely Planet guide books are by far the best travel books I have encountered thus far. Each book will show you the hidden wonders of the country you are traveling to, along with advice and warnings-these books are written by backpackers who have first hand experience. I suggest picking one of these guide books up before you start your journey!

Perfume Will Travel

I am obsessed with perfume and because I request a new scent every Christmas and birthday I have amassed a nice collection. I think that wearing perfume is almost as important as adding accessories to your daily outfit. I take great care in choosing what scent I wear for the day, for example I wear my Hanae Mori scent with my feminine outfits for day, or my Dolce & Gabbana: Light Blue, in the summer with sundresses and shorts and when I am going out at night my favorite thing to put on is my Stella McCartney. Because I travel a lot I am also concerned about the best way to bring my favorite perfumes along with me. Luckily, most designers have created travel bottles-now you can take your favorites sent with you wherever you go!

Sugar Rush Fashion

Spring is on its way and what better way to celebrate then by draping yourself in soft pastels! I am loving the beautiful color combinations that the collections have produced this season-they are almost reminiscent of a South of France Spring holiday! Just remember to keep color combinations down to one or two, as one does not want their outfit to resemble an explosion of cotton candy!
